Times after their last release in August 2020, Larissa emerges with DÓIDÓIDÓI, a song designed with their already familiar brazilian-pop-flirting-with-experimentalisms.

The fresh air, after a very silent gap, makes itself clear in the first few seconds of the song,. The talk between spaces and languages were thought out to expose their experiences and perspectives as a curious artist, with acidity and inventiveness wrapped in sampled guitars and a sweet voice.

“Talking about pain while dancing to a weird pop,” was the idea. With antagonisms and ironies throughout the project, Labaq embraces their DIY soul as a way of diving even deeper into themselves, “when you are conceiving, directing, producing, etc, it’s different, I feel like there is a deep connection to the outcome and a limitless devotion to the work that I do."

Larissa’s identity is reaffirmed by finding in beats and poetry the cure for saudade and hurt, these are moments of fury and lightness that translate the single into a synthesis of the last few years as a non-binary brazilian immigrant artist living in Portugal since 2020, also giving us a taste of what we can wait for 2022.

“DÓIDÓIDÓI” has the music production and artistic direction by Labaq and it’s video was co-directed by the artist and Ana Viotti. The release is set on March 31st and will bring out a promotion tour in Portugal, passing through Porto, Lisbon, Vila Real, Leiria and Braga.
